A wake-up call to my generation

I was on Netflix trying to find something to watch when I came across movies titled: Liberated: The New Sexual Revolution and The American Meme.

The American Meme is a documentary that covers the lives of Paris Hilton, Josh Ostrovsky aka ‘Fat Jewish’, Brittany Furlan (Well known for making King Bach and Lele Pons famous) and an Instagrammer that goes by the name ‘The Slut Whisper’ Kirill Bichutsky.

It really gives you quite an insight into how much power and control social media has over our generation.

People are famous for being famous. People are willing to do anything for 15 minutes of fame. King Bach, in the documentary, said he could retire if he wanted to now. He’s 30 with a net worth of $3 million.

2. Liberated: The New Sexual Revolution

This documentary had quite an enticing description, “
“Filmmakers explore how pop culture shapes a new generation’s beliefs about gender, sexuality, and violence on display among students on spring break.”

Everything I wanted to say has been put more or less the same tone and language so take a look at it.

Let’s be honest with ourselves, where are we heading?

Kirill, the photographer in American Meme said he was tired of his partying lifestyle. But he continued it to pay his rent. Everyone is depressed or is trying to climb the social ladder. People will never be happy. Money is a tool, but it doesn’t even take you closest to happiness.

I have watched a lot of famous documentaries of Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Freddie Mercury, Jim Morrison,Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus all of them to a certain extent have said the same thing. “They are lonely, they don’t have anyone they can trust, they can’t find love, since they can’t trust people.”
